DAILY STORIES
We photographed one of our favorite weddings from last season in this lovely villa which is a perfect, breathtaking venue for an elegant Lake Maggiore wedding: Villa Muggia, located on the picturesque shores of Lake Maggiore in Stresa, Italy. With its stunning location with a good view on the lake and its elegant, vintage interiors, Villa Muggia provides the perfect backdrop for a fairytale wedding celebration.
Carina and Francesco, the bride and groom, opted for having their wedding ceremony at the nearby lovely old church, perched on the hills with stunning views of Lake Maggiore. Carina was so beautiful in her stunning bridal dress by Reem Acra and gorgeous make up by Oriana Curti! After the ceremony, the newlyweds made their grand entrance to Villa Muggia in a classic white vintage car…really a fittingly elegant start to their celebration!
ARRIVING AT VILLA MUGGIA
Upon arrival, the newlyweds enjoyed a quiet moment together amidst the lush greenery of Villa Muggia’s gardens and in its stunning inner salons: Villa Muggia is a true work of art, featuring ornate details and classic Italian design elements that really transport you back in time. We used all of these beautiful surroundings for a quick photo shoot, and Carina and Francesco did absolutely great!
WEDDING RECEPTION AND PARTY
in the meantime, their guests enjoyed a classy aperitif in Villa Muggia’s lush, sunny garden, sipping Italian sparkling wines and enjoying the unique atmosphere of a Lake Maggiore wedding to the fullest. The reception itself was a true feast for the senses, with delicious Italian cuisine provided by Delicatezze a Casa and a beautiful, modern table setting. The evening ended with a cake on the Villa’s main balcony, while dancing and laughter continued late into the night.
A MAGIC LAKE MAGGIORE WEDDING

AND NOW, WHICH ARE THE NEXT STEPS FOR YOUR LAKE COMO WEDDING ?
If you’re considering getting married at Lake Como, here are a few things to keep in mind as you plan your big day.
Step 1 – Planning Your Lake Como Wedding: Logistics
First and foremost, it’s important to consider the logistics of getting married in a foreign country (we wrote some practical info here). You can decide if you want to have a symbolic ceremony, or if you want to get a license in Italy: it’s up to you. It’s also a good idea to hire a wedding planner who is familiar with the local regulations and can help you navigate the process.
Step 2 – For Planning Your Lake Como Wedding: Your Wedding Venue
Next, you’ll need to decide on a venue for your ceremony and reception. When choosing your wedding venue on Lake Como, consider the capacity, the position, the indoor and outdoor spaces (yes, it’s good to have a strong plan B), but above all, follow your heart and choose something that makes you fall in love.
Step 3 – For Planning Your Lake Como Wedding: Get Your Photographer
Ok, you have your date, your venue… it’s time to go on with all the other vendors. This includes choosing a wedding gown and attire for the rest of the wedding party, selecting a florist and decor, and hiring a photographer and videographer to capture the day. You’ll also need to decide on a menu and hire a caterer, as well as choose a DJ or live band for the reception.
(Cough cough – check out our portfolio and contact us!)
Step 4 – For Planning Your Lake Como Wedding: Book Your Stay
You can stay either on your wedding venue, or in a close apartment or Airbnb if you want to save money. Our tip is to consider to sleep on the same spot of your wedding day at least the night before and after the big day, so you can relax and enjoy the day at your best.
Step 5 – For Planning Your Lake Como Wedding: Plan B
As you start to finalize your plans, don’t forget to consider the weather in Lake Como. The best months for having a wedding in Lake Como are April-May and September-October: it’s not too hot, and not too cold. But of course it’s impossible to predict when it will rain, so choose a place that can accommodate all of your guests inside in case of a plan B.

For a lot of couples, the perfect wedding day involves sunshine, good weather and picturesque views. However, even if you face an unexpected rainy day, your wedding can still turn out beautifully with the right approach, as you can see in this beautiful wedding of Sarah and Yannick at La Villa Hotel in Mombaruzzo. Find out in this article how to plan your Italian Langhe wedding on a rainy day: it’s going to be so special and unique!
Romantic Opportunities of Planning a Rainy Day Wedding
When you’re planning a wedding, the possibility of rain can be one of the most stressful factors to consider. But while rain on your wedding day may not be ideal, it can actually create some beautiful and romantic opportunities for your big day. Here are a few ideas for making the most of a rainy day wedding:
- Embrace the weather: If it’s raining on your wedding day, there’s no use trying to fight it. Embrace the weather and let it add to the ambiance of your day. Use umbrellas as props in your photos, or even get married under one!
- Get creative with your décor: Rainy days can provide a unique opportunity to get creative with your wedding décor. Use clear umbrellas as centerpieces filled with flowers, or hanging lanterns to add a touch of magic to your reception space.
- Plan for indoor fun: If you’re worried about rain ruining your outdoor plans, have a backup plan in place for indoor fun. Set up games or activities that will keep your guests entertained, or plan for a dance floor so everyone can let loose regardless of the weather.
By planning ahead and embracing the potential for romance that comes with a rainy day wedding, you can ensure that your big day is everything you’ve dreamed of – and more!
Creative Ways to Take Rainy Day Photos
If you’re planning a Langhe wedding and are worried for your wedding photos, don’t despair…we’ve got your back!
There are plenty of ways to make the most of a rainy day and still get some beautiful photos. Here are a few creative ideas:
- Get married in an umbrella! If you don’t mind getting a little wet, this can be a fun way to make the most of the rain. Just make sure your photographer is prepared with a waterproof camera.
- Go for a romantic walk in the rain. This is a great opportunity to get some sweet and intimate photos with your new spouse. Just be careful not to slip on any wet leaves or puddles!
- Use the rain as an opportunity to get creative with your wedding attire. Embrace the weather and wear rain boots or carry umbrellas as props in your photos. Your guests will love seeing you have fun with the rain!
- Have your ceremony indoors but take photos outside in the rain during breaks in the weather. This can give you some unique and stunning shots that you wouldn’t be able to get on a sunny day. Just be sure everyone is prepared with umbrellas and raincoats if they want to venture outdoors!
- Embrace the wet weather and use it to your advantage by planning some fun activities that can only be done in the rain, like playing in puddles or jumping in muddy puddles.

Wedding photographers and rainy days
When it comes to wedding photography, inclement weather can actually be quite advantageous. The muted colors and soft light of a rainy day can create a romantic and ethereal feel that is perfect for wedding photos. However, there are a few things to keep in mind if you’re planning on having a rainy day wedding.
For one, make sure your photographer is comfortable shooting in the rain (and of course…we are!).
Also, be sure to have a backup plan for your ceremony and reception in case of bad weather. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!
Last but not least, embrace the rain! If you’re willing to get a little wet, you can actually use the rain to your advantage. Be sure to take some beautiful shots of you and your spouse walking hand in hand through the rain or standing under an umbrella together. These are the kinds of memories that will truly last a lifetime.

You’re going to get married in the most beautiful and romantic place you can think of.
You’ll find yourselves in a wonderfully far away and removed from your day-to-day life setting, but still all of your dearest friends and loved ones will be there, sharing this amazing moment with you.
Certainly, you’re already putting a lot of effort into making sure that everything during the day will be so special for all your guests and for yourselves: a beautiful venue (you can find some of the best here!), excellent food and wine, stunning dresses.
If this is the case, why settling for anything less than the best wedding photographers you can find?

5 VALID REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS IN ITALY
Here’s what choosing the best wedding photographers in Italy can do for you:
- 1. Great photographers will capture all of the special moments and emotions of your big day in a way that you can look back on and cherish for years to come. It’s our job to make sure that you’ll be able to relive all of your memories. We want you to laugh, cry and get chills again when you’ll look at your pictures after years. Plus, it’s such a beautiful gift to pass down to future generation, don’t you think?
- 2. Great photographers mean way more than an expensive camera: they will have the skills and experience necessary to take stunning photographs that you will be proud to show off. They will know how to use lighting, composition, and other technical elements to capture the mood of the day. In our case, we photographed thousands of weddings, and we know that building skills and confidence in the craft takes A LOT of real-life experience!
- 3. Great wedding photographers can help to alleviate the stress and anxiety that sometimes come with planning a wedding. They will be organized, reliable, and professional, which will help to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day of the event.
- 4. Great wedding photographers will put a lot of care in your photos, not only during the wedding day, but also in the selection and editing process. This can take hours and hours – sometimes weeks! Why so long? It’s not just a matter of making each single image look beautiful by itself: the gallery as a whole will be visually beautiful, since all photos will work well together although they’ve been taken at different times and lighting conditions throughout the day.
- 5. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, great wedding photographers will also have a strong portfolio (check out our own here) and a good reputation in the industry, so that you will be absolutely confident and sure of the final result.

PRO TIP:
Of course, there’s nothing like the best photographer of an entire country: here in Italy we have so many talented and professional colleagues, and we wouldn’t be able to elect the absolute best.
What we mean here is that you should look for the professionals which are the best for you, those that you feel a great connection with and whose work speaks to your soul.
So, to wrap it up:
Simply put, settling for nothing but the best wedding photographers for your adventure of a lifetime in Italy is an investment in your future happiness and the memories of your special day.
Your photographs will be something that you look back on and cherish for years to come, and they will help preserve the memories of your wedding day for future generations.
