“Omnia vincit amor”, love conquers all: love stories don’t stop and preparations for the big day go on! More precautions and rigid hygiene measures do not spoil the magic setting and decors, nor the itch to go back to celebrating love. In the intimate wedding of Gabriele and Valentina the colors of Frida Kahlo and the abstract lines and shapes of Vasilij Kandinskij are mixed up with each other and with very bright contrasting tints.

Rainbow wedding color palette

Their wedding - inspired by modern and contemporary art - and took place a nuanced color palette is the thread binding this love story together: white, ocra yellow, pink, red, blue-green, electric blue are all joined together in the geometry of the decors, leaving nothing to chance. Flowers and structural elements where all designed and put in place by the historical Turinese atelier SIMMI.

The bouquet was composed of rarely seen flowers: proteas, celosias, hyacinths, carnations, turmeric, astilbe, amaranthus. The ferns, binding it all together, are also matching with the details of the bridal dress. The intimate ceremony took place under the huge, centenary Lebanon cedar in the Villa’s garden.

Bridal dress and make up

The bride was absolutely stunning in her dress by Maura Brandino and make up by Rosanna Curci. As a backdrop for the ceremony, a frame covered in white canvas and decorated with flowers. This is how Gabriele and Valentina have chosen to tell their love in these tough times: with a perfect mix of nature, modernity and art.

Gabriele and Valentina are a lovely couple who got married in January. They were the life and soul of this shooting, aimed at giving a hint of how a small, intimate, elegant and classy wedding in Covid times might look like. The shooting took place at Villa Sassi, an ancient villa on the hills overlooking Turin, Italy.

The Villa was recently renovated in a modern and contemporary style. The flowers and decors where designed by SIMMI, a historical and renowned Turinese atelier: drawing inspiration from modern art, they constructed a very colorful scene, with a strong color palette ( white, ocra yellow, pink, red, blue-green, electric blue) and some very original choices of flowers: the very bold and interesting bouquet is composed of proteas, celosias, hyacinths, carnations, turmeric, astilbe, amaranthus, and ferns.

Get married at Villa Sassi

The ferns are also matching with some of the details of the bridal gown by Maura Brandino which, together with the subtle and expertly made make up by Rosanna Curci, made Valentina more beautiful than ever. The intimate ceremony is set under the huge, centenary Lebanon cedar in the Villa’s garden. The backdrop for the bride and groom is a white canvas frame, decorated with colorful flowers which make it almost look like a modern abstract painting.

The wedding cake

The wedding cake was provided by Fabrizio Racca, a top notch pastry chef of indisputable reputation in Turin. His cake was a perfect fit with the mood and style of the shooting, and could be considered like an abstract work of art in and of itself. Last but not least, the table setting conceived by Simmi was truly impressive: over 2000 tiny led lights hanging from a superstructure encasing the table. The mise en place was very colorful and original: it might look random at a first glance, but the many contrasting colors and shapes of chairs, wares and decors all contribute to a very unique and artistic look, perfectly fitting with the overall mood and artistic inspiration of the shooting.
